Easy, Cheesy Asparagus Casserole


This simple asparagus casserole combines tender asparagus, crunchy breadcrumbs, and a creamy cheddar cheese topping. Ready in just 45 minutes, this is sure to become a hit with the entire family!

What you Need

Prep breadcrumbs


In a small bowl, microwave butter for about 30 seconds. Stir in panko breadcrumbs. Set aside.

Cook asparagus


Cook asparagus in boiling water for 1 minute, then transfer it to the ice bath. Drain and pat dry. Arrange in baking dish.

Saute aromatics


Melt the remaining butter in a pot. Add shallots and garlic. Cook until fragrant. Stir in flour and cook for 30 seconds.

Add milk and cheese


Add milk and bring to a boil. Cook for another 5 minutes, remove from the heat and sprinkle nutmeg. Add cheeses.

Pour cheese sauce


Pour the cheese sauce over the asparagus. Season then sprinkle panko mixture.
