Healthy, vegan and packed with protein!


– Chickpeas – Vegan broth – Nutritional yeast – Pork seasoning – Smoked paprika – Garlic powder – Maple syrup – Wheat gluten

Step 1

Add all the ingredients for the vegan ham except the vital wheat gluten to a food processor and blend until smooth.

Step 2

Transfer the mixture to mixing bowl and add vital wheat gluten. Mix with a spatula and knead with your hands about 10 times.

Step 3

Shape into a loaf and then wrap the loaf in  foil. Place the loaf on a steamer basket in a large pot with water, but don't let it sit in the water.

Step 4

Cover, bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer for 1 hour. Remove from heat and let the loaf cool for a few minutes. Remove from the foil.

Step 5

In a medium bowl, mix together the glaze ingredients and set aside.

Step 6

Place the steamed loaf in a casserole dish or pan with a rim and score in a crisscross pattern.

Step 7

Pour half of the glaze over the loaf and bake for 30 minutes, basting every 10 minutes.

Step 8

Let cool for 15 minutes, remove whole cloves and serve. Slice thinly and serve while hot.
