Spice mix

Grind coriander and cumin seeds, ginger and garlic, some green chili peppers and red onions into a coarse paste.


Start by sauteing the onions in a skillet, over medium heat, until brown. Now, add the spice blend and saute until they're brown.

Make tomato base

Add the tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt, then use your spatula to mash down the tomatoes a bit to release some of their juices

Add chickpeas

Add chickpeas, tamarind paste and 1 cup of water and bring to a boil. Then, lower the heat, cover and cook for 10 minutes.


Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro.

serve & enjoy!

Serve hot, with either flatbread or rice.
